District 17 is made up of east Linn County and east Marion County. The major cities are Lebanon, Sweet Home, Stayton, Sublimity, Scio, Lyons and Mill City. It goes from the valley floor to the crest of the Cascade Mountains.

Agriculture and forestry are the main industries. District 17 also boasts Linn-Benton Community College campuses in Lebanon and Sweet Home.

He did not support Measure 37 because he believed the legislation was flawed. Dan worked tirelessly in support of Measure 49.

With local Measure 49 organizers Cameron Mulder, Sean McCaffrey and volunteer coordinators Cory Koos and Maryanne Ewing, Dan helped organize door - to - door literature drops, did phone calling and spoke at various Measure 49 meetings.

He understands the importance of reigning in the onslaught of commercial and residential development that threatens all of Oregon.
